Non-resident fee waivers can be granted to new students and from other states who are admitted to UL Lafayette if they meet the following criteria:

Group 1--First-time Freshman (under 12 credits of college level coursework):

First-time freshman must meet all of the criteria below

  1. Must have an ACT composite of 23 or greater or SAT composite of 1060 or greater (Only Verbal/Critical Reading and Math scores will be considered for the SAT composite score) and
  2. Must have a 2.5 minumum high school cumulative GPA on a non-weighted 4.0 scale and
  3. Must have an English ACT of at least 18 OR Verbal/Critical Reading SAT of at least 450 and
  4. Must have a Math ACT of at least 19 OR Math SAT of at least 460 and
  5. Must be admitted to the Univeristy

If you are a first-time freshman, please include with your application:

  1. a current high school transcript
  2. a copy of your ACT/SAT scores

Group 2--Transfer Students (completed at least 12 credits of college level work):

Transfer students must meet all of the criteria listed below:

  1. Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a non-weighted 4.0 scale on all college level work and
  2. Must have no need for remedial course work and
  3. Be eligible to return to their previous institution.

If you are a transfer student, please include
transcripts from all colleges/universities attended.

Group 3--High achievement in dance, debate, visual arts, music, theatre:

A student applying prior to entering UL Lafayette with high achievements in dance performance, debate, visual arts, music performance, or theatre performance may be granted a fee waiver if the student's presence will improve the education opportunities of other students. Cheerleaders, flag corps, university recognized or sponsored spirit groups that perform at athletic game activities, and the SGA president may also be considered in this group. The applying student must meet each of the following criteria:
  1. demonstrate high achievement in the appropriate performance area and
  2. have a cumulative minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale in high school, if applying prior to entering college, or on at least 24 hours of college work and
  3. demonstrate leadership and
  4. receive a satisfactory rating in an interview (personal or by telephone) and
  5. commit to participate in the appropriate area at the granting institution

If you are in this category, please include transcripts from all schools attended and please specify in which area you will be participating.
