- Students cannot receive financial aid for more than 30 credit hours
of remedial coursework.
- Students must have a complete admissions application on file.
- Students must be pursuing a degree or certificate in order to be
eligible for Federal Student Aid.
- Students must be a U. S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
- Students must be enrolled at least half-time in order to receive
any type of student loan(s) and Federal Work Study. Undergraduate
half-time enrollment is 6 hours for fall/spring semesters and 3 hours
for the summer session. Graduate half-time enrollment is 5 hours for
fall/spring and 4 hours for the summer session.
- Students enrolled at the University for Summer ONLY, currently pursuing
a degree at another school (Summer Visitor), and who do not plan to
attend a regular fall/spring semester at UL Lafayette are NOT eligible
for Federal Student Aid at UL Lafayette.
- Students must register for classes before financial aid will be applied
to their University account. Financial aid will be applied to a student's
account based on the number of registered hours.
- In order for financial aid to be credited to be available during
registration, a student must be registered for classes by the preregistration
deadline date established for the semester in question.
- Students are responsible for tuition and fees for all credit hours
they register for as of the class day after the schedule adjustment
period ends. This means even if a student drops a class(es) or resigns
after this date, the full amount of tuition may still be owed after
the University refund policy is applied.

Priority consideration for financial aid will be given to students who submit
all of their information to the Office of Student Financial Aid by
May 1. Financial aid applications received after this date will be processed
in the order received by this office. It is a student's responsibility
to know and understand what information is needed by the Office of Student
Financial Aid to complete his/her file. If your file is selected for verification
(audit) you must submit signed copies of all requested tax returns, a signed
verification worksheet and any other required documents. Transfer students
are required to submit a Financial Aid Transcript from all prior schools
attended and an academic transcript from the last school attended. Students
who file applications after the deadline should make personal arrangements
to pay for all school charges in the event that their file is not in order
by the registration due date for each semester. |
