Hamilton Hall

Hamilton Hall houses offices and classrooms for the departments of Renewable Resources and Human Resources. A small restaurant, operated by the Hospitality Management Program, is also located here and serves gourmet lunches; season tickets must be purchased to eat in the restaurant. Hamilton Hall was built in 1940 as a laboratory school and was used for that purpose until the late 1970s. It was renovated in 1986 and reopened in 1988. The building was named in honor of Fuller M. Hamilton, former dean of the College of Education and a former superintendent of the Calcasieu Parish school system. He was an advocate of equal education for all students. Hamilton spent 23 years as a faculty member at UL Lafayette. He earned a bachelor's degree from the UL Lafayette Louisiana Institute in 1922.
