Bourgeois Hall
 
 

 
Bourgeois Hall, erected in 1986, is home to the Kinesiology Department. and is named for Vesta Richard Bourgeois. She began teaching at UL Lafayette in 1927 and she served as head of the Physical Education department from 1939-68. In 1961, she was the first woman to receive the Louisiana Athletic Association Honor for service to high school athletics. Bourgeois Hall also is home to the Intramural program and houses basketball courts, racquetball courts, weightlifting and exercise equipment, student aquatic center, and sand volleyball courts.
